I offer psychotherapy and counselling from my practice in Leigh-on-Sea to help with whatever you’re dealing with.
I can support you with everyday life matters of stress, anxiety and mild depression, through to loss, bereavement, relationship difficulties, and more enduring depression and anxiety. I can also help you if you’re facing complex issues such as domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and letting go of past traumas.
"No need to hurry. No need to sparkle. No need to be anybody but oneself."
Virginia Woolf
Our minds, bodies, emotions and soul are intrinsically related to one another, so I work with you as a whole person. Sometimes thoughts and emotions can remain stuck if we’ve been unable to fully process them at the time of a difficult life event. They can then ‘live’ in the body and we may experience them somatically as pain, discomfort, sensation or simply as a loss of vitality. As part of my practice we can work creatively with the body to release this blocked or stuck energy.
Our work will also help you gain new insights and knowledge about what makes you feel good and energetic, what gives your life purpose and meaning and how you feel connected to yourself, others and the world around you. Holistic counselling is ideal for helping you understand your values and beliefs and how you want them to manifest in your life. There are many different holistic techniques, but most importantly, I will sense what will be most valuable for you in that moment and work with your needs.
I practice at The Ark in Rectory Grove in Leigh-on-Sea, where I have a warm, peaceful place for you to feel safe, respected and comfortable. With subtle greenery, calming colours and carefully chosen essential oils, this is a place to relax and be yourself. Once we’ve established a trusting relationship, there is an option to move to online or telephone consultations if you wish.
Sessions with me are 60 minutes. We’ll work session by session so you can judge how many sessions you feel you need as you go along. Some people may just need a few – others work with me for longer.
If you’re thinking about counselling, I offer a free 15-minute, no obligation conversation so you can ask any questions and see if you’d like to book a full session with me.
